My friends, how are you? Sorry I’ve been too busy lately, travelling and fixing at home & with my little business.

Thank you for all your sweet emails and comments! We ran two very succesful giveaways during last weeks and I could not be happier about the response we have received regarding our new collection. There’s more giveaways to come so stay tuned. Happy dance!

This week is really exciting, I’m off to India on Saturday! I’m visiting a city called Pune in business. I’m posting some lovely images from my trip later!

Darlings, remember I talked about the black and gold rooms? I’m totally nuts about the color combo these days, and the same goes with orange. You see, even my blog got a bit orange! So, last weekend after I had slept in (travelling does make one tired, but oh.so.happy) I walked over to the local paradise, the wallpaper store! Good Monday my friends! Hope your weekend was great! I've had a lovely weekend, a lot of work with the little apartment since it's going to be photographed and hopefully, sold pretty soon. We are, as you probably know, preparing to move into our new apartment in couple of months, and guys - it's so exciting!

This weekend I've been lusting after black and gold. I've already told my guy we probably need to change the wallpaper plans (again) and go for something very bold like this!

Last weekend I was spending my time in the local wallpaper store, and BOY it’s huge! I managed to go through most of the papers I wanted to see IRL. I have now made almost all the choices for our home, and I can’t wait to start putting them up!

My friends have this gorgeous wallpaper in red in their hallway – it’s such a statement and a great welcoming view for all color lovers!

Happy Thursday my friends! At the end of this week we are going to visit Hem & Villa, probabaly the Scandinavia’s largest public fair for home decor and interior design. I’m so excited about it!

How was your weekend? Mine was pretty nice – we enjoyed the beautiful autumn weather and the nature that’s slowly turning from green to bright reds and yellows.

Last weekend I also finally created my pinterest account. Yeah, I wanted to see what’s all the fuzz about so I logged into the community and oh-la-la, found it pretty difficult to leave!

Talking about addiction - I'm just about to send in the application for Formex - the largest interior & desing trade show in the Nordics! I'm so excited, let's hope they will give our booth a nice placement! We must discuss the booth design and all that too! I'm sure to tell all about it :)

Question – the legs? Will I get tired of the mish mash of the legs? I think stylewise they are so far away from each other so maybe it could look good together? I’m not clear on that yet.

We will go for a cool and clean look so that we get to decide the accent colors once we have adjusted into the new place. We have already chosen some real fabulous wallpapers, and they are NOT white! Furthermore, you can expect a lot of books and paintings.

As you propably know, I and my homies are going to move into a new apartment in some months time. The tricky part is that we cannot really go over and take picture in order to start planning. Why? Because it’s still under construction! So we need to visualize how it will be until the beginning of next year. That won’t stop me from planning!

This is the kitchen cabinets we chose. Minus the glas cabin doors. And minus the shape. Also minus the handles. And the other materials, colors and so on… But you get the point right? The kitchen cabins are from this collection. The hardware we picked looks like this.

His name is Pedro. I’m thinking that if we ever own another cat, he will be called Pedro. I’m sure our Pablo would be thrilled! Now, let’s move on to the real dilemma – the chairs!

We are going to put these darling granny chairs into our kitchen. Now I’d like upholster these babies somehow. But I’m not sure what fabric to use… Any ideas?

We went through some of the stuff that we had stuffed up to the attic – and in the mids of all strange crap we have been collecting over the years, my guy showed me a lamp he has owned since he was… well, younger. I’m so excited about it, and can’t wait to reveal it!!! But, patience now… :)

Today I’m featuring something really cool – that is our new apartment! Or what’s there yet… you’ll be the judge :)

Okay now, this is how our new home looks like. Really good before shots don’t you agree? I can’t, CAN’T wait to get my hands dirty on decoration details!

Some things still missing… like walls for instance.

Everything is going to be brand new and fresh – I have never had a completely new apartment before. I love all the hundreds of years old houses for the beautiful details and high ceilings… but, it is pretty cool to get a brand new home where no-one has ever lived before!

The balcony was HUGE and my walk-in-closet looked promising. It’s going to be such a lovely home for me, my guy and our cat!

That was my Tuesday’s Stockholm apartment – next time you see the images we will be having some walls and wallpapers and floors (ah, the floors we picked!!) and some kitchen stuff on place. Before that I’m updating my mood board and dream sweet dreams about our new home.

You know, I am in love with Stockholm. Often I dream about living somewhere else, but I still really love my city. Also, I kind of love Sweden. Yeah? Yes. I chose this lovely neighbouring country for some 13 years ago, and never, NEVER looked back. I’m so proud to be Finnish; hard working, reliable and strong Finnish woman, but… I would not move back. I’m sure I and my family will relocate a few times in our life, and we are dreaming about some warmer latitudes, and little less stress and little more sun {AMERICA!}, but so far Stockholm is in my heart and number one.

Okay… those were my firts morning thoughts. For you who love Stockholm, and would like to visit our beautiful city (do it between April and October), here’s a great info site for you, www.stockholm.com!

I’m so happy to announce that my web site is finally live! I’ve been working like mad with my products, the site and everything between. Also, my day job is also pretty hectic now I’m for sure not bored :)

I’m so excited today - I just received my first samples of my cushions! So wonderful :) They look just like I imagined, and I’m happy all the hard work starts to pay off.

Lately, as you might guess, I’ve been super-busy with setting up my business. I’ve been designing, looking for producers, and working on the online appearance. Now, finally, the samples are here and I’m ready to release my very first collection of cushions. Yeah!

Do you feel my excitement? Isn’t it just fabulous to see own work (lot’s of work) coming together? I cannot describe the feeling! Cheers, now I’m going to celebrate and have a glas of wine.

I was thinking of revealing some of my desings for you now. Or, actually colors that I’ve been working on. You know, I’m a bit sucker for colors, and my collections are obviously proof of that!

So, let’s reveal the coloring for my first collection! Here it is.

I’ve been working so much with the Pantone Fashion + Home color set these last weeks, and it’s going to be amazing to see my first collection of cushions to become alive! Of course, these colors are the web presentation of the textile colors I’ve chosen, so let’s patiently wait until I have received the babies and can see them in action.

Good sunday evening and happy new week to all my online friends! My weekend was wonderful, first some wine & dine in the city, then cozing up at home the whole saturday, watching movies and enjoying being at home. On sunday we updated some textiles at home, it feel much more autumn cozy now. We also got friends over for dinner, and I’m been busy training too. Such a perfect weekend!

What else I’m busy with… I' ve told you couple of times, but let’s recap here now and again: I’m setting up my business and it’s going great!

This week has been busy one with setting up the web site. Since I’m an IT professional I simply cannot do the easiest solution around – that being letting somebody else to fix my online presence. oooh no. I must fix it all by myself! So, this week has contained a lot of web hosting, DNS settings, domain names and so on. I do love every single thing about doing it.

I’ve been busy thinking about the decor in our new home, and with the wallpaper sample in my hand, I’m leaning towards full on grey bedroom. How about that? The space is very small, so there’s not much furniture we can accommodate, but I’m thinking now the walls and textiles {surprisingly}.

I have some fabulous greys in my new collection of home textiles. I’m itching in my bones since I cannot show them yet!! But soon my friends… :)

However, would our bedroom look nice in grey? Would that room stay grey for a longer period of time? Given my love for colors, would I be happy with this? We shall see…

Today’s apartment caught my eye for following reasons: The white kitchen cabinets look edible delicious. The warm coloring draws my senses to the fall. I love fall. The nice wall art inspires me to re-do our walls.

I’m finally making decisions what comes to wallpapers into our new home. We still have some months to wait, but according to the latest newsletter from the contractor, we can actually visit the place and have a look in August! How cool is that? We’ve only been waiting about a year and a half :)

So, I dragged my guy to the wallpaper store where I spent my friday night after work. I showed him some of my ideas and luckily, he totally bought them!

So, I ordered samples of these lovelities. Since we can visit the flat in couple of weeks (??), it’s good to be prepared. We want to wallpaper BEFORE we move in so why not start testing the samples on walls and to see how they look like in the lightning.

We will also change the moldings. Or infact, we prohibit the contractor from setting any moldings since the only ones they had were very plain boring ones. So, we really need to set up the wallpapers before we start with that work!

OK, to the wallpapers now…

Bedroom walls are going to be covered with this Sandberg Vera wallpaper. The first color option is black and the background is mmore to dark greige than full gray.

The other color option is Mocca… I still cannot choose.

Then, to the hallway… We decided, after looong process of finding the perfect trellis that this Cole and Son beauty is the one. In black and white. No second thoughts here!

Finally, this beautiful GP & J Baker wallpaper from the collection called Holcott is our choice for the living room. I have had this on my radars for a long time now, and I’m happy I still find it the best. And so does my guy, magically ;)

So, what’s your opinion? Like these? Not like? Any other tips before we seal the deal?

It’s friday already! I can’t believe how fast this week has gone… So much things to do, and so much have I also accomplished. I am finishing the design part of my products, and now looking for the perfect supplier to meet my needs. I might just have found one, and right now I’m expecting some samples to arrive. I’m so excited!

Meanwhile, we are looking for summer house to buy… Found one really nice object that would need a lot of TLC… But it’s close to Stockholm, price is OK and the best of all – it’s close to a lake! Let me get back to how it proceeds.

This is not the house we are looking for, but could easily be the finished summer home for us!

I love our new throw from Dubai... Yes, we went to Dubai last March, ans it was fabulous!

We are going to Helsinki this weekend to meet my lovely nieces. I can't wait to give them the souvenirs we bought in the States...

The weather is sunny and beautiful in Stockholm. We enjoy our weekend trips to the Swedish countryside, and exercising in the park near our home. We are also looking for to buy our own summer cottage! That - my friends - will be one heavenly project for us!

My friends, I know, I've been away for a looong time now...

How are you doing?

I am doing good, so many things been going on so I don't know where to start...

We had a lovely holiday to the USA last month. We landed in NY, continued to New Mexico after couple of fabulous days in NYC, then drove a car around New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and California. We visited so many places, and saw so much interesting that I'm totally USA fan! I also declared some weeks ago that I think we really must consider moving to San Francisco... Let's see how that goes in the future!

I left my heart in San Francisco...

Then, we have been planning our wedding! Not any exact plans yet but it's definitely coming together now.

Also, our moving date is coming closer. We have been ~~building~~ watching contruction company to build us a new home in Stockholm, and now after 1,5 years waiting the moving date is coming closer! So, stay tuned for a total furnishing / wallpapering / painting / decorating story!

And, some more exciting news for you... I have, after a long time of dreaming and planning, finally started my own business! We (yes, I've got some pretty talented people in the game) are designing our first ever interior decor collection. Isn't it GREAT? I'm so excited to show you all what we've been doing for the last months now!

Since our new home is getting more and more ready, I’m planning the decor day&night. Not really during the days since then I’m thinking about my job in IT which I love, but at nights, weekends… all the time, and driving my guy slowly to madness. However, we all know how important it is to plan and seach, rigth? My and my love are planning our wedding, and we’re looking for many alternatives. Although it’s still long time before we marry in 2012, it’s so wonderful to plan that remarkable day! We are much into travelling so going away for a great party with our friends is really interesting option for us.

We are looking for locations on Mallorca and South of France. A fabulous rustic house like this would do it for us!

I can imagine us having a great grill party for our closest friends out there!

It’s monday again, happy new week to everyone! I’ve been busy this weekend! It’s been really cold here, the winter is back again { dammit, I already saw the spring coming! } and everything is covered in snow. Loads of it.

Never mind, I’m still looking forward to spring time! I changed the curtains in our living room to blue ones, and matched with some gold details. Also, changed some cushions to light pink and leopard patterned ones. Lovely!

We had a lovely Friday night with our friends, went through pictureas from their USA trip, pretty same route as we are going to do later this year. Also, I managed to visit Stockholm Furniture Fair. What a great show!! So much colors coming this spring / summer!

Before checking out for the weekend I'd like to shout out an event planned in Amsterdam this coming summer! Unfortunately I won't be able to join since I'm travelling around USA, but definitely next time my lovely friend Lise from Urban Style Vibes* is arranging this event!

This weekend we are going to hang out with our friends, watch all the pictures from their USA road trip this January. We are pretty much doing the same trip in 4 months { time flies!! }

Furthermore I'm visiting the Stockholm Furniture Fair this weekend! The weather is chaotic so any outdoor activities are totally out of question these days. Have a lovely weekend!

Let’s talk about kitchen tables now. We’ve got a kitchen table which is oo-kay, it’s a plain oak table from Ikea. But, the problem is that I don’t LOVE it. Previously, I had a conversation with a friend:
Me: I’m not sure what to do… My guy likes the table { it IS his } but I just don’t kind of need to keep it…
Friend: that’s easy! Just invite me and my kids over and hand over some hammers, ink pens and other fun staff…

There’s our table. So, since we are moving to a new home, I’m thinking if we could find a new lovable table. Also, the space is an issue. Our new table area in kitchen is about 3,50m x 3,50m. I’m thinking, how about a round table?

Ikea has one or two nice ones, and they don’t cost us fortunes { like the wallpapers I’m lusting after }.

Then again, I also love this one

{ not to mention the fabulous wallpaper right? wowsah }

OK now, we love hosting parties, specially dinner parties. My guy is the best chef ever, so we always get together around dinner table every evening, and often with friends during weekends.

How many friends can we fit comfortably round those ikea tables? Not so comfortably? What’s your opinion, round, square, or maybe oval?

Hi all lovelies! It’s monday, and a whole new and exciting week ahead. I’m full of energy again, and expect this week to be just as great as the last one! Today, as promised, I will show you one of my lovely friend’s home: Sarah from Monaco Interiors!

I am so honored that Tiina asked me to participate in Favorite Places of My Home series on her beautiful blog! So, without further adieu, here goes:

By day, I work in a kitchen/bath showroom and sometimes work as an Interior Designer (work is scarce here right now) so when I come home, I want to relax and do my own thing even with a husband and two stepchildren (we have half the time) - twin boys who will be 15 in March.

First up, is my Blog Command Central - this is my favorite spot in the house and I am here most of my free time as I find myself continually obsessed with blogging! If I'm not blogging, I'm thinking about blogging or what to post or doing more design work in my house, which we rent, so I am a bit limited as to what I can do.
I recently went crazy and bought 4 prints from Anne Harwell of Annechovie, so I have two of her prints behind me, as well as a poster of Audrey Hepburn, which I love. I love maps too and found this great map of the world at a Goodwill store for $5, so I hung it right next to me in case I need to look up a country or look at it really closely. Frankly, I would love a yellow Parsons desk to replace my rather hideous desk, but for now, it will have to do.

Next up is the sofa where I love to read in the corner, preferably with my beloved cat Scooter (he is 15 and diabetic so he needs two shots daily) keeping me warm on my lap! You can see my authentic 'Jeannie' bottle from the TV series "I Dream of Jeannie" which was my favorite when I was a kid. I met Barbara Eden once and asked about the bottle. My husband found an artist who purchases old Jim Beam bottles, which were used for the original in the series. She meticulously hand paints all of them. I usually read fashion or design magazines or books about Scotland or Grace Kelly in this corner. My French style sofa was a second hand purchase and is super comfortable! Great for taking weekend naps on too.

I love my kitchen windows as they let in lots of light and allow me to set up my humble little blog 'photo studio' of sorts. I also love to eat, read a mag and look outside anytime of the year. Right now, because there is so much glass, the kitchen tends to be colder than normal. There are 3 large windows and the glass continues to the ceiling too. My plant lives there as well, which a friend gave to me in 1998 when she moved to California. It is still going strong as you can see!!

My favorite place every weekend, especially Sunday, of course, is my bed. Ideally my first cup of coffee followed by my first cup of tea with a few magazines, QVC or Bravo TV or lately, HGTV's "Holmes on Homes" are my faves of the moment. If I can linger here for more than an hour with a bowl of oatmeal and some toast, that's a great day!

My bookcase has all my design books and I love to look through the collection (rather modest by any standard!) and see which one I'd like to read for inspiration. So many books, so little time!

Lastly, my TV viewing chair from IKEA (the Poang)...not only is this chair super comfy, but I can read here as well and put my feet up on my leather pouf of many colors, purchased for about $40 from a second hand shop. My bright yellow table is one I painted last summer and love. It used to be a very dark brown, and I like to think I gave it a second life as a yellow table!

Peeps, it feels like it's been years since I was here! I needed to take a lill blogging break, but I have missed you all the time and now I'm slowly getting back to my normal day routines.

What's been up? We had a lovely Christmas and NYE with family and friends. We had a bit longer vacation that usually, and it was really needed! But now we are back in business again, and it FEELS GOOD!

This could be the year we move into our new apartment... Let's all hope the contractors will get it done soon! Since we live close by, we often go for a walk and view the progres. Also, I decorate in my head.

We are also planning our wedding a bit. We decided 2012 so there's still a lot of time. Besides that, we are going to travel a bit this year, first to Dubai and then to USA!

The Christmas is almost over now, and BOY - what a year it's been! So much fun going on... We bought our new apartment in April, or more exactly a hole where the new home will arise some day in the future... Not yet, but maybe during 2011.

We also re-decorated my guy's place when I moved in... The balcony went pink.

Some of the furniture got new look.

We sold my sweet little single girl's nook.

What else... OH yeah, my guy popped the question!

I love the soft pastels in this pretty home I found via Lennoxx. The coloring is quite like the one I’m imaging for our new livingroom.

Light blue and pale pink is such a lovely combination. Also love the furniture mix.

I’m amazed by this! Stencils for a ceiling, isn’t it just divine? It’s an idea that’s actually quite easy to DIY, don’t you think? I’m staring at our ceiling as we speak and wonder how this would look in our little home.

This is such a marvellous look! The gold pattern looks very Moroccan to me, but goes great even with modern interiors. You think one should have airy room in order to make this look good? I’m sure also a standard room height would do…

Happy new week my friends! How are you? I am feeling great, this month is going to be such a wonderful one. Christmas is all about families and eating too many cookies! This year we are going south to celebrate with my guy’s family, and my mum is coming too!

Good morning and happy November {soon}!

I’ve been looking for the perfect sofa for us, and cannot decide between these good ol’darlings.

What we have is one modern brown leather couch, it’s Ikea style and also here to stay. Now, I’d like to create a square space for a lot of friends to hang out.

On top of my list is this, or two of these

Ofcourse, not too inventive but a big love object of mine. Then, I’d like to add one of this style sofa:

In grey. Yes, brown, grey and white. How do you feel about it?

I’m sure it would look great! Maybe a wallpaper like this

And a carpet like this to get all the elements together
